Kind hearted organisers of The Thirsk Truck Show Gathering 2018 donated a fantastic £1000,00 to The Bringing Back A Smile Charity who look after adults and children with life threatening illnesses.Suzie & Nick Dodds along with Jason Smallridge who look after the event said they were privileged to donate the money to such a worthy cause and adding that amount to the £864.44p which the charity raised off their stall over the weekend it was a overall brilliant sum which will go towards helping others in need.Kevin Hill founder of the charity said it shows that we have come far in a short space of time as the charity has now extended their team into north/yorkshire and with Suzie and Jason who have joined us they will be promoting the charity in and around Yorkshire which can only be good news for those in need of help.There was a fitting tribute to avid photographer Lee(RAPID)Johnson who sadly passed away recently,Lee was often seen on many bridges doing what he loved best taking fabulous pictures of the many trucks on the road and he will be sadly missed,long time friend Ryan(TBO)Linley from Hull who organised a salute with air horns on the motorway which seen some 250 truckers setting their air horns off as they passed underneath the bridge an awesome display from the truck guys that showed you how much respect they had for Lee well done Ryan and the lads and lasses who took part in the tribute brilliant,the charity also made a donation to the Tristan lee fund Tristan sadly lost his battle with cancer recently and we felt it only right to give something back.The money will go towards the local hospice that took care of Tristan.And finally i personally would like to thank all those who supported us over the weekend we cannot thank you enough because without people like you we would not be able to continue our work in the community bringing back a smile to those in need once again on behalf of all the team thank you and we hope to see you all soon-DRIVE SAFELY AND TAKE CARE XXX
