A story that would bring tears to the most hardened people 16 year old Rachel Calder from Boddam near Peterhead in Scotland has had her fair share of misfortunes but the brave teenager does not let that get her down and carries on as any normal teenager would.Rachel who first found a lump on her right leg and at first thought nothing of it until it started to grow and her mum immediately took her to the doctors and from there she was sent to Aberdeen Hospital for a M.R.I. scan which revealed a rare form of cancer and unfortunately the specialist team were unable to save the teens right foot. Before Rachel was a budding model at Peterheads Elmars Bridal Collection Shop were she modelled wedding dresses for potential clients so having to go through what she had to with major surgery to remove her foot and her rehabilitation it was quite extraordinary when i met up with her at her home for a special visit to find her in buoyant mood and the chat we had had me took aback by her determination and courage and after 2 weeks of her operation she was up learning to walk and trying to get back to some sort of normality.I have over 5 years met some courageous people and young children who battle the odds on a daily basis but this will certainly be one person who will always stick in my mind just for her courage alone. We picked up on Rachels story from long time friend Linda Anderrson who is the owner at Elmars and after hearing her story we though it only right to give this youngster a visit and may i say the 6 hour journey north was well worth it.We hope in the future to run a music fundraiser for Rachel and all her family & friends who have been fantastic with the support they have gave Rachel. We hope we can raise funds to send Rachel and her family on a holiday of a lifetime something she richly deserves and the team from Bringing Back A Smile wish her the very best in her rehabilitation and progress-HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON RACHEL XXX
