CHARITY SMASHES FUNDRAISING TARGET AT MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA

Friday the 8th December will stick in a lot of peoples minds as the day the Bringing Back A Smile Charity came to Billingham’s Swan Hotel with a fantastic music show to help raise funds for three local children who are suffering with various cancer conditions and to raise funds for the charity who look after adults and children throughout the north/east of England.Rebecca Henderson,Amelia Wilson and Dylan Westgarth have been going through a rough time of late and the charity hoped to bring some much needed smiles back to the youngsters.The show seen former FACTOR stars Kerrianne Covell and Abi Garrido wow the sell out crowd at the swan and after the amazing raffles and a superb auction the charity had set their sights on raising a target of £5,000.00 and after founder Kevin Hill and mum of Rebecca Tracy Henderson done their final count they were left gobsmacked to find that not only did they smash their target they did it quite comfortable with a final total of £7,079.96p.The night was supported by main sponsors C-D ENGINEERING(stockton)and HARTLEPOOL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT plus a match funding from SANTANDER BANK courtesy of Lorna Fagan.Kevin said he was overwhelmed how deep people dug in their pockets to reach such an amazing total and he praised Tracy for her hard work in the build up to the event she was constantly on the go running here and there and also having to fit time in to take her daughter for treatment.On the night everyone mucked in by ways of selling tickets and running the tombola.One thing for sure theres going to be three happy children come christmas all with smiles on their faces and that is what its all about it makes it all worthwhile and the charity will use the money they raised on other families over christmas to ensure that there will also be more happy faces over the festive period.Kevin said i would like to thank the management of the swan and the bar staff who worked hard all night but also our sponsors and the general public who helped us reach this amazing total.
